Description
This is a compilation of information on all memorials removed from Oakes Street and Upper Frederick Street Jewish burial grounds which now lie at Broadgreen Cemetery, following their rediscovery and recording led by Anna Fairley Nielsson and Harold Mytum. Memorial photographs are accompanied by transcriptions of each memorial, with translations of the Hebrew to English, as well as relevant notes, by Nathanja Hüttenmeister. This document serves as supplementary information to the paper published in Historical Archaeology entitled ‘Religious, Cultural, and Linguistic Continuity and Change in a Diasporic Minority: An Archaeology of Jewish Memorials in 18th- and 19th-Century Liverpool’.
