Thsi directory contains all data used to create and analyse all the models and simulations as described in the paper. Foe each subject (1-10) this includes: DTI muscle fibres- Available as a .mat file for each indiidual muscle. These contain important variables such as "fibrelength" and "pennation", from which the Fibre legnth and Pennation angles values as defined in the paper were derived. These files were generated with permission using a MATLAB toolbox described by Bolsterlee et al (2017) Models- Contains subject-specific, generic elderly, generic elderly optimised, generic young and generic young optimised models, compatible with OpenSim v4.0 onwards MRI- MR image stacks from the T1 (anatomical) and DTI sequences. Muscle/Bone objs- 3D meshes of each muscle and bone, created from digital segmentation of the T1 MR images, used to create the OpenSim musculoskeletal models. The muscle meshes were used to estimate muscle volumes in order to calculate muscle force generating properties. OpenSim input files- Files defining the motion of each isokinetic trial, and the external forces, in order to run a static optimisation simulation. Output- Muscle group torques as predicted by OpenSim static optimisation simulations, as described in the paper. Available as .mat files.
