Lattice Boltzmann simulations of particulate matter in porous asphalt using the OpenLB resolved particles method. The geometry is obtained from microCT provided by Yongping Hu of the University of Nottingham. The 2 distributions of particle radii were used, as well as a control containing no particles. The distributions used were: a low-medium mix of 44.2% 0.075-0.15 mm, 46.2% 0.15-0.3 mm, and 9.6% 0.3-0.59 mm; a medium-high mix of 9.6% 0.075-0.15 mm, 46.2% 0.15-0.3 mm, and 44.2% 0.3-0.59 mm.
